i saw you driving the skippy Mr Colt Wink

I tried it couple of laps on Lime Rock.

Made some 58.xxx but i can improve.

This car is fun but need as many others to practice a lot.

Its sliding a bit too much (for me) but with practice this can be fine.

At the beginning i was 3 or 4 seconds behind but laps after laps i started to get the rythme.

Dont know how are race with skippy cos i m a bit scared there is too many nervous guys there.

I always prefer to get clean race than having incident, especially with my bloody Black Pro license who kill me if i have any incident Wink

Yeah that race was so fun, started 3rd and made a mistake in first lap so i was 7 th and stayed right behind the guy in front for many laps before he made a mistake.
Low 58 is a good time here, generally races are clean if the strenght of field is high enough , i 'm beginning to appreciate lime rock but it doesnt forgive any mistake.
Were you in spectator session?

Colt, are u sure the setup u gave me is fast enough for VIR?

Probably a question of habits but i saw guys doing some 1.37.xxx

Or they are totally aliens, or they drive with manual clutch or they have better setup.

Since the new build and new transmission, some cars are slowers with auto clutch than the manual.

What are your toughts?

I dont think the setup makes a lot of difference for the skip , i watched some guys doing 1.37.xx and they really drive on the limit every corner, they sure have a lot of practice behind the wheel.
Anyway i m usually 1 to 1.5 seconds away from best times but you should be closer pig so get back to work ( it s charlotte speedway this week not a track i like ).

In my humble opinion, the new gears shift is maybe the problem also.

Cars running with auto clutch are really slower especially on SRF, Mustang and Solstice.

I really dont like their new transmision model.

It gave too much penalty on upshift.

On Mustang at Watkins Glen im nearly 2 seconds slower than before the new build.

I hope they will change that soon or later.

With the update i now use the clutch pedal to upshift but i dont use it to downshift as i brake with left foot, it takes some time to get used to it but works quite well.
Auto clutch sure makes loose some time, maybe you could try to use clutch pedal.

Downshifting is the big problem for me, at the moment i just use the paddle but i cant put a little bit of throttle to help the rear end staying stable ( if i push the throtlle the gear doesnt change).
So i try to downshift at the same time i brake and push the throttle a bit after to help the car staying on its line.

Well, i just made a bit of practice on Mid Ohio and i made a race tonight.

My PB at the moment is 1.37.460 with your Laguna set.

What kind of technic did you choosed for gear shifting?

Now, i put everything manual, i use clutch with wheel button to upshift and to downshift, it looks dont need to use clutch.

I use clutch pedal + paddle for upshift and just paddle for downshift.
I dont think the set for laguna is the best at mid ohio but if you feel ok with it why not Smile

Well, i did a 1.37.062 with this set and optimal at 1.36.835.

I think i can go around 1.36.xxx soon Wink

Time for you to kick me if its not already done Wink

But you're right, i think its not the best setup for this track.

Yes i really like this track too better than some others as Sebring.

Sebring is a good one but the last and first corner doesnt look as a track curve to me.

Other parts of the tracks are good.

Colt, i defenitly prefer the "old" set at the moment with Skip at Watkins Boot.

I beated my PB with a 2.08.100.

2.07.xxx are not far.
