Re: New season of the OLFSL
Can any of you SCCC gods approve my SCCC tag on the OLFSL website?
I changed my settings so that i'm now in SCCC but the page says:
"Your membership to this team has not been confirmed yet. You need an existing team member to approve your application."
Thx in advance.

Re: New season of the OLFSL
So, the race is on this weekend then, right? Gianni won´t be there right? He´s only coming home on the 20th. I wish you good luck Rookie and AAnt. I hope you guys have some nice battles and some good results at the end of the race and of course fun!
PS: Ant, as a admin of the OLFSL, do you know if the server(s) are connected to LFS remote? If so I´d watch the race there.

Hmm yeah the race is this weekend... altho i'm not looking forward to it much atm.
It's been so long since the last race ... i haven't driven the combo since our endurance training nearly 2 weeks ago.
Hmmm, we'll see.

If you practice the combo abit on saturday and in the hours before the race you should be able to get back into your rythm. Remember it´s only (nice joke there) 21 laps. Tyres should last easily I don´t know exactly how much fuel you´ll need, but I think 65 - 70% should be enough (I recommend to do some calculations and interchange some knowledge with AA before the race). If you start at the back try to keep out of the trouble in T1, and avoid the wrecks at the side of the road. Yes, OLFSL is a very professional league full of fair and clean drivers, BUT this is KY3r and there is always abit of mayhem in T1. Even if you don´t do well for whatever reason, having fun and racing clean is priority.

Re: New season of the OLFSL
I did a few laps today ... it did go fairly ok (after i found what setup i used).
I'll do some more laps tomorrow and i should be fine.
I just need to keep it on the road ... and out of the wall.

I'm sure you'll do fine Rookie, I'm a bit concerned about my tire wear , but I'll work through it.
I added you to OLFSL SCCC team CP so we'll get the points

Is the server connected to LFS Remote ? I´d like to watch the race there if it is.

Re: New season of the OLFSL
Don't think there's a way to watch the race.
The grids are up: Ant and me are in Pool 3 (last pool).
There is a mandatory pitstop.
21 laps to make the best of it.
Btw, according to google:
Weather for Kyōto City, Kyōto Prefecture, Japan -- Wind: N at 6 km/h
so be prepared.
Race for me is at 6:30 am Monday morning ... not too bad

I´ll be watching as long as I can. Have to go to school tomorrow so I may not be able to watch the whole race. Still will be fun to watch over remote.

Re: New season of the OLFSL
Just finished it, with mixed feelings.
First lag lap was horrible, was taken out before T1 ...
2nd lag lap was a lot better, i sat on the inside and make it thru.
Race start. NERVOUS!
I took it a bit easy as the car in front of me slowed down and i made it thru the first few corners pretty ok. Watched a car flip tho .. scary.
The first few laps were complete shit for me ... i was nowhere near my normal raceline and i think in lap 3 i completely missed a corner, crashed it hard into the wall. Front suspension damage made the car very nervous in right hand turns and i decided to pit.
I was nearly last now and had a long race to go.
After my pitstop and fixing the car i started racing like i should. Laps were not super ( no 2.18's, but consistent and i kept it on the road.
Slowly i started catching up and i overtook a ton of cars by the end of the race.
Last lap! behind Rasta, knowing damn well i can overtake him that lap as i'm easy doing 3-4 seconds better a lap now.
He slows down the main straight and T1 (the flatout one) .. i lift off and position myself for the corner. BAM grass, lockup, slide .. wall.
There goes my chance for P7. I rejoin the track and floor it.
The lapped car in front of me crashes hard in my famous corner (i was secretly hoping it was Rasta). I kept my foot down till the end and overtook a car that ran out of fuel right before the finish.
P7.
I could have been 6th if i didn't noob up that last lap ... who knows where i would have ended if i didn't crash that wall and stuffed up the few laps before i pitted ... ah well, it's over now.
Sad to see Ant retire so early, looked like he and another car kissed the wall in my famous corner.
Next round .. oval .. with formula cars ... :/

Boy oh Boy am I glad this is over, really bad race for me. No one to blame but myself. That flipping car on T1 was a great thing to see, I didn't think you could roll it there.
Good job on finishing Rookie.

Re: New season of the OLFSL
Yeah i'm happy about that too.
Been thinking about the race nearly all day at work.
I just watched the replay and i have a few things to say:
Ant, you made a small error in Lap 1 and it seems it completely wrecked your concentration which resulted in you parking it in the sand. Let's try and forget this race and focus on the next one!
For myself, i'm happy i'm 7th. I could have been 6th if i didn't make that horrible noob mistake in the last lap, but i don't deserve it to be honest.
I was not driving well at the start of the race, missed that fast corner completely and well .. thats where i lost all hope for a good result.
Took home 93 points for the team so nothing to complain about.
Time to focus on the next race.

Good race all, too bad about the sand Ant. Good job Rookie!
FO8 at the Oval... we need to do some trainings together for getting the good hang of the drafting.

Re: New season of the OLFSL
Yeah we sure do.
I have 3-4 setups from setupgrid, just need to find one that lasts the entire race (in case we do not need to pit).
I have another MondayNightRacing event in 2:30 hours so i won't be doing any FO8 testing today.
Btw, do we have a skin for that car??
