SCCC in LFS
New seasons are starting for us in LFS, Last season seen Gerrit take the Participation award, he finished every race of the OLFSL 2011 season, as a rookie driver he did great placing in the top 25.
This next season ... sees our LFS division running both the GDC and OLFSL series. The two leagues have joined together and all I can say, is, If you haven't been to LFS lately, re-install.
I was on a server (GDC) where a couple lads made comments about missing sccc members.
Come back to LFS, even if it's just watching from LFS remote..went to watch Gary Iracing and they wanted $26.95 to let me watch it...lfs remote is free...so is skype.

Preventing the demise of SCCC

Hi Guys
I hope you are having a good 2013. I am posting in this thread in a hope that you will be notified of this message - not sure whether anyone is still frequenting the forum.
In my opinion SCCC is for all practical purposes, and very sadly, dead. I doubt whether OLFSL will start a new season this year, as the admins did not even have the decency to finalise the 2012 season results before disappearing. During the 2012 OLFSL I found a distinct lack of motivation on the side of the admins to put any effort into this league. Most cabbies also disappeared from the league. As this is the only league where cabbies had anby presence during the previous 2 years, I assume, if OLFSL dies, SCCC will die too.
I bear the SCCC tag with honour, and feel quilty every time I have to carry the GDC tag to take part in team events, where only teams are allowed. As an explanation, the GDC team is a team consisting of club members from different teams that drive together, as such GDC is not a team, just a club badge.
NOW - I propose that we put a public invitation on the LFS Forum in an attempt to pull new drivers into this team. If we do not do this, this old team is history and another has-been. I would hate that to happen. I would like to pull at least 5 new drivers into the team. Specific criteria that is important to me are the following:
1) Mature drivers
2) Minimum 30 years of age
3) Proven track record of activity in LFS
4) Moderately fast - at least 4% from the WR during events, practise races or hotlaps
5) Not on any ban lists
6) At least 1 driver that loves the oval, one GTR class driver, and 3 all rounders.
This is my idea, and I am willing to drive it.
Should this idea not met the approval of the SCCC members the following will be the result:
1) I will leave SCCC
2) SCCC will have no further representation in LFS
3) SCCC will be dead.
Regards
- Gerrit
Re: SCCC in LFS
Give it a try, it couldn't hurt.
Best of luck

Re: SCCC in LFS
Problem with getting new drivers, IMO, is that we aren't active enough to know them. Sure there are some mature people out there, but without knowing them, it's hard to recruit.
I think five is too many. Would be hard to get everyone to know each other with our activity level
