Post by Rookie41 on Sun Apr 03, 2011 6:15 pm

Just finished my Pool 4 race.
Came 10th.

Backed off at the start (it was 3:30 am when we started, stupid daylight savings),
maybe a bit too much in the first few laps ...
Started getting in the groove but didn't really get the hang of it.
Had a crack at overtaking and got it to stick.
Pitted around lap 17 or so, quick stop and go as i had no damage or smoked tires.

Was in a battle with Gerrit when I made a mistake, touched him in T1 and I went off into the sand. Managed to get out and resume my race.
The car felt strange with low fuel but I decided to push a little at the end.
In my last lap I nearly wrecked it and burned all 4 tires in a HUGE slide/spin ...

Was an OK race looking at how early it was ... time for sleep.

Good finish Rookie, how many times did you fell as sleep during race Razz

My race was pretty uneventful. Started 10th in pool 2 Izzy 12th right behind me. On first lap I lost and gained few places. At the end of the lap a guy behind me brake late and aimed for a very small gap and oops... I rolled over roof not once, but twice Sad. The car was still drivable, so carried on behind everyone else. Just lost my concentration and mood in that incident...

The lap after that Izzy was having a similar problems. At the back straight the driver behind him forgot to brake and took Izzy out Sad Well not totally, but he decided spectate after half of the race as the whole pack was closing in.

I finished 10th, thanks to others rolling their cars.

Did my buffer lap for Event 3.

We are moving houses today so I'm not sure how long it'll be before we have internet again, I'll keep you informed if things go bad and I have to skip the race Smile

Having Internet issues at the moment (random disconnects).

If this continues till race-day I will more than likely not start the race.
Haven't had much practice lately anyway due to moving houses.

If I get some laps in this week with the set Ant mailed me I could try and get up for the race.

We'll see.

Duncan and I will defend our current standings, (KA) race team is our team to beat this year. We currently sit at 6th, but both Izzy and I have a secret weapon for the race.

I won't win but I will finish.

Races are not a must show, this is meant to be fun and Real Life is way way more important, Basically I have no restraints on my time so i'm always able to do what i chose when it comes to being online for any of my many games. I would never expect the same from peeps doing schooling , jobs, family ect, so if I seen like i put undue pressure on any of you...just tell me, my passion for the game gets the better of me because in 1981 LFS was the game I dreamed of having.

IRacing is not within my budget and I have concerns like the Sony issue that hackers could destroy all the good credit it takes a person a life tine to acquire.

So If i've seemed pushy please accept my apologies.

I don't now if you meant me AA, but I don't feel like you have been pushing the team too hard. In fact you have done great job acquiring new team members and getting the team work together for a league.

I've had and will have great time racing with fellow cabbies in OLFSL league this year. Thanks for that.

For us cabbies it has always been real life before gaming and I think everybody understands that Smile

No Mauni, I was just generalizing. I have many friends in the OLFSL and just as many fun rivalries.
I jsut wanted to reiterate that not being able to race because of other commitments should not make the racer fell like they have let the team Down.

Until I finish my new build, I won't be doing IRacing. I want a more stable platform to work from, the increasing demands of online gaming warrant a top line machine and i do believe my next build will be more than any game can throw at me.

I will have a load of unused parts that may help some of our members and as soon as the new build is complete i will release a list here.

Proud to be a Cabbie.

Well done Rookie cheers

MRT race in two weeks. One of my favourite cars... I should have some good setups for that car, have to sort those out next weekend when I got the time.

FOX race went off kinda of uneventful for me, had a great set but popped the motor but still finished. We are still ahead of (KA) which os good because they had 6 drivers out against us 3.

We still hold 6th place in standings.

Looking forward to the MRT and some great tweaking...lets show them what we are made of this next race Smile

Sunday May 15 2011

Post by atomant on Thu May 12, 2011 9:02 pm

This Sunday finds the SCCC Team heading to SO1 with the mighty MRT for 36 laps. Mauni starts smack in the middle of pool 1, while Izzy takes the Pole Position for pool 2.

Wakey starts from 10th of 18 in pool 3 and I start 17th in the same pool. Rookie has us covered in pool 4 with a comfortable 5th place start.

Some of us ran 70 laps today for a test and it really is an intense little car to drive.

Best of luck to all the team, we are currently 6th of 39 and looking to move to 5th after this Sunday.

Be Well and Have a Great Weekend.

AAnt

p.s. I think pool 4 may be 2am Monday morning for Rookies' time zone....now that's dedication Smile

Short race for me...

At lap one we were going 3 wide to the chicane and I though this won't end good, so I braked a little to give the other 2 guys room. As a result I got hit twice by guy behind me. The first hit gave me some extra speed and I hit the two guys already in the chicane. The second hit spun me and while I was facing nose to the wrong, I tried to rev and get the car to correct direction, but got nose to the wall instead with no way to recover.

Sry to hear that Mauni, I'll watch the replay.

Rookie had a solid race, moving as high as 3rd and finishing a respectable 4th.

Wakey, on lap 15, Came through the chicane to find someone camped out backwards and let of the gas just enough to cause his rear end to wiffle, the drive behind Wakey, CPL Mask, was not as cautious and nailed Wakey like a paid date. At that time, Wakeys' car was totaled and the day done.

Izzy Started from the Pole of pool 2 and was feeling the pressure. I was on skype and LFS Remote as a spotter for him and can tell you...it was Intense, a replay worth watching.

He controlled the race into lap 6, but coming off T1 got onto the gas early and did a drift, it was enough to let 2nd and 3rd slip by, he did a great recovery and resumed in 3rd with Bozo ( a good friend of the Teams) hot on his heals. Bozo Kept the pressure on and at lap 9 with the 2nd place driver spinning out, Izzy was overtaken but did not lose 3rd.

Lap 9 seen TEM Lappervotte basically cut Izzy off causing him to slide and losing 4 positions putting him in 7th with minor damage.

On lap 12...and watch this on the replay please, it may be a case of appealing that move by CPL Makao...That is plain and simple a cut off...causes Izzy much damage, needless to say at lap 18 Izzy retired.

Me? I just started 16th and finished 6th, had an event-less day.

Cheers to all.

Interesting race for me.

Due to a very busy real life I had not driven any laps with a heavy race-fuel filled car until 30 mins before the actual race.

Big thx to for awesome setup Mauni, it drove perfect.

I had a big moment on the laglap where I lost it in the chicane and made a mess.

The actual race was better, T1 got messy (I went wide) and ended pushing Ruti off the wall after multiple cars crashed.
I got away from it unharmed and resumed my race catching cars.
We lost a big majority of drivers in the first few laps.
I had a solid race and was looking at a podium spot for about 1 corner, but Claus just had a bit more balls flying to T1 side by side so I backed off and never got another chance to get him.

I did manage to do a new PB after which I hit both the inside and outside of T1 and took it easy from there.

4th place finish.
I'm happy with that Smile

Well done Rookie & Ant Smile

Too bad for Wakey and Izzy. I would've been so pissed if I had been pushed as much as Izzy Very Happy. The Makao crash was very nasty. He was swerving around way too much and made his moves too late. I hope he gets some sort of penalty for it.

Qualifying for next event is already under way.

RB4 @ Blackwood Rallycross reverse (BL2R).

I noticed ANT already put a lap down, about 3 seconds faster than the times I was doing offline earlier today.

Any sets to share ? I'd like to get some decent offline practice in for this event Smile
