SR Hotlapping League
Might be interesting for our Cabbies who're fast and can't make the fixed league shedules ?
More info: http://www.sonicrealmsracing.co.uk/league_hotlap.php
Think you are fast? We challenge you to prove it!
Fast in 1 car? That's OK, but do you want to know who is the quickest driver over all the LFS cars? Welcome to the SR Hotlap League 2009!
This league is designed to show who is the ultimate hotlapper. Each event will last 2 weeks, with a total of 8 events. The winners will be the drivers who are the quickest in each car, plus the quickest overall. There will be an individual Car Championship and also the Ultimate Hotlapper League. If you want to just use one car, you can. But to win the Ultimate Hotlapper, you will need to set times in as many cars as you can.
To enter the league, simply join our server named [SR] Hotlap League and set a time in any or all of the available cars. No signup and no schedule issues!

I was 1,5 seconds slower than the current leader, with a 50,62 I think and got ranked 20th out of 33. Not bad in my opinion.

Time to download some setups and practice offline .. unless we want to put the combo on our server and get credit for the laps we do

I was doing that in the XRG and the setup I used can´t have been bad because Pallukka made it, and he really is not what you´d call slow.

Just beat your 50:38 I drove a 50:37 with a BawBag set. Now to get after that 50:20 GTi by GC, getting close, 50:25
Got my UF1 down to 53:61, I'm doing my best to represent SCCC in this league, if you find me on that server i will gladly share all the sets I have.

I can´t go round there forever. My head is already tilted because of all the laps I did.

I´ll give you a little tip. Use hybrids instead of normal road tyres. Over a short distance they´re quicker, which comes pretty handy if you want to get you laptimes down. They overheat pretty quickly though.

Grats, you´re the only of us to be in the top 50. I´m 51st. But all cabbies are within the top 100! We achieved something!

Re: SR Hotlapping League
I´m in a fight for postition in the overall rankings with Anty now. Just improved my times abit and I´m now directly behind him. I think he will be rocketing away from me in round 3. The FWD GTRs won´t be something I can be fast in.

My thoughts on previous/current/future events
Event 1 - UF1, XFG and XRG @ FE Club
Very nice combo. Easy to drive and fun. Didn´t think I would do that well before I really hammered it. Rookie gave me the tip that I should use hybrid tyres and thanks to those I was faster than Tukko with the XRG.
My times: UF1 -> 53,72 sec (60th place) ; XFG -> 50,83 (87th place) ; XRG -> 50,26 (30th place)
Event 2 - TBO @ SO Classic
Seemed a fun combo when I first tried it and the first couple of times it indeed was, but now it´s somehow lost it´s funfeeling. I may not improve my times anymore. I´m currently faster than AA with the XRT and the FXO, but I think by the speed he´s showing that won´t be the case for much longer. I´ll concentrate on practicing for the third event which starts in 9 days. Yes it´s still 9 days. Still, I wish the rest of you luck to beat me.
Event 3 - LRF @ FE Gold
What to say about this? Well, FE3 is one of my favourite tracks in Live for Speed. Why? It´s because I think you can have fun in any of LFS´s cars there (perhaps even with a VW Scirocco ). The LRF class is the fastest road car class and it´s cars aren´t known for being easy to drive so I expect (even with a prize to win), that not that many people will take part in the 3rd event. What does that mean for me? Well practicing and taking the chance of being a couple of more places up than I´m usually.
Event 4 - FWD GTRs @ BL GP rev
The first (and luckily only) round where my biggest weak point will show: It´s called front wheel drive. The track itself doesn´t have than many turns, but lots of badly angled curbs so that especially the XFR could roll if you hit them. Unless I find some good patch X setups (which I like more for the FWD GTRs) I´ll be losing lots of places.
Event 5 - GTRs @ WE International
Finally! The first event with some proper cars in it! Still won´t be easy. Westhill with it´s fast sweeping turns is a real challenge for every driver, and the fact that this round will be driven with the GTRs doesn´t make it any easier, should be even more difficult to be honest. FZR should be fine. XRR has a very twitchy rearend (don´t worry about GTAL now that´s the other way round and the GT2 isn´t that beasty ) and the FXR understeers like hell. Will be the biggest challenge on the calender and I think that the results could be pretty surprising.
Event 6 - LX4 + MRT @ AS Cadet
After the very demanding combo of the 5th event I think the guys at Sonicrealms have made a very sensible decision with this combo. LX4 and MRT are a joy to drive and AS1 is a nice and easy track. I´m already very looking forward to it. Should again be one of those events where the number of people taking part should be pretty big.
Event 7 - FBM + FOX @ KY National
One of the best combos of the season and defenatly my favourite! The FBM is a joy of a car to drive round that track and with it´s masses of mechenical grip it should be very easy to get it round the track and having fun. The curbs, which the FBM sometimes has problems with, aren´t one there either. FOX? The easiest of all the single seaters to drive, has a fair bit of power and provides some good racing and good fun. Of course we won´t be racing there, but it still was worth mentioning. I think as soon as the racecars come in with their slicks and wings I even could help you out with some setupproblems here and there. And with any shadow of doubt I think that will be the most fun! (unless the devs release a patch that makes me hate openwheelers lol)
Event 8 - FO8 + BF1 @ AS Grand Prix
The two fastest cars in LFS on the longest track in LFS! It will be the last event and defenatly the most difficult one. The FO8 and the BF1 are two of my favourite cars (I bet everyone else here hates them lol) and it again will be fun to drive round there. If you ever need setups there or at any time before that, just ask me, I´ll help you out if I somehow can. By then the devs should maybe have given us their "christmas present". Still far away from now though.
I hope it´s not too much for you guys too read.

Re: SR Hotlapping League
Thanks for all the efforts you took, Herr sccc|von-D., nice writing too!
Personaly ist too ambitious for me. I'm happy if I make it to the wheel now and then. Thats why I tend to stick to one combo, or one car for instant pleasure.
From Sccabco historyview we've come from those little yellow XFG cabs (since 2003) and we had no complaints by our customers sofar.
Don't let yourself dissapointed by this'but I'm not really able to join those big events.

Re: SR Hotlapping League
It´s ok if you don´t like it. Main reason is having fun and that´s what you have with the combos you like. I like to have a bit more variety in my life. Sometimes I do things diffrently. I enjoy this league very much. I don´t want to prove anything with this, that I´m faster than person X, Y and Z, I only want to have fun and hotlapping is fun for me.

Ant WAS leading sccc with all cars. Yes, he was. His XRT time just got beaten by some german bloke with a sccc tag.
And at this point I just want to thank the devs for the ABS setup option.
