Some Explanations on how work I Racing
Well, lot of things to say about it and probably too long.
I Racing has a really different state of mind than LFS.
Different doesnt mean better or bad of course.
Here you cant do exactly what you want.
You cant say : "ok tonight im gonna race on this combo"...no
I Racing looks to work by Series (we could compare as SR Hotlap league).
A "Series" is running for 1 week.
For example : i subscribed to Solstice Car series.
This week the track available on Solstice car (for what they call "Rookie" drivers) is Laguna Seca.
That mean that i can do Practice, qualifying, racing and doing Time Trial on it only.
Doing that, can give you positive or negative points in your "SR" (Security Rating) status.
"SR" points are like experience points, more you got points, more you can go further in differents series (or combo's).
In I Racing, you dont have the right to make too many mistakes or stupid moves cos you "SR" will change.
If you put à wheel outside track, that give you negative points.
If you lose control of your car, negative points.
If you have an accident, same thing, etc....
Thats hard, but a good thing to avoid idiots and bad drivers.
In I Racing you cant join a server as LFS.
You must first subscribe to a session ( as qual, practice, race, etc...)
Those sessions are every xxx minutes or hours.
Many things to discover anyway, but that "game" is nearly as a real car simulation.

Another thing is about setups.
Actually on my level there is no setup.
They are well balanced on default.
Everybody then drive on same level.
Later (probably) you have acces to sharing setup, etc...

Re: Some Explanations on how work I Racing
The most important advice i can give is to not pick a race as you do in LFS , the race is the achievement after you work your driving skills .
The best thing to do is pick 1 or 2 practice sessions which don't change your safety rating , then do some qualification laps in qualification sessions and then win the race
There are also the time trial sessions in which you have to do 7 fast laps in a row without a mistake.
The seasons last more than one week actually , the track changes every week .
Lake , try to keep your SR above 3.0 and in three weeks you will be promoted to class D and could join me in the spec racer season
And yes the rookie solstice doesn't have much setup (you can make a few changes if you want though ) other cars do have more regulations that can be made .

Yes of course, season is longer, you were right, track change every week
I have a question, when you subscribe on an event and you are in qual session for example, there is a countdown to tell you when race or warmup begin.
Do you know if we have to quit the present qual session to go to the other server or is it switching automaticly?

You have to quit the server and join the next event , at the end of the countdown it tells you what to do.

Hover on the MPR near your helmet on the front page to see what needs to be done for promotions and click on the date on the right to see when it happens et voila

Re: Some Explanations on how work I Racing
Im 3.53 now on Road cars and when i look to the calendar, i must wait until 30 th november.
To get the promotion, do i have to race or is it automatic?
It seems to be auto.
Now i can go through the SCC Ford series

Re: Some Explanations on how work I Racing
The system to change class is complicated but grats for the quck class D . It looks like for going to class C i have to buy a jetta or a skip barber + tracks which is 100 $ more so i ll stay in class D with my spec racer

Re: Some Explanations on how work I Racing
Yesterday i bought the skip Barber but of course i dont have all tracks.
I will maybe buy some tracks but most of them are ovals...
anyway, im beginning to have some pleasure to drive ovals even its a bit less interresting than road tracks.
PS : hopefully its interesting to have euro's against dollars to buy things...its a bit cheaper

Hes fast in hotlap and race but he had to fight a bit with me in race
Was a good sweating race

Re: Some Explanations on how work I Racing
Yes 4.99 is the maximum but if you stay out of troubles i think it s still growing or if you had enough class D races you will become class C

Re: Some Explanations on how work I Racing
Im doing some Class D races and Time Trials to go on next license.
But thats hard with my poor (for the moment) experience on Class D cars.
I think there is lot of fun in current "Rookie" series anyway.
Im ust learn a bit more the SCC Ford who looks good.
Maybe its a bit early to go to next license i guess.
