Grand Touring Amateur League
Deko has just realeased an updated rulebook and a provisional racecalender and provisional car restrictions. Very good news on both. Nice tracks and the new restrictions should make the XRR more competitive too. I think we should use this thread for any futher discussions about the GTAL.

Re: Grand Touring Amateur League
Also, provisional schedule, order may change though:
Round 1: 3 Hours of Kyoto GP Long (KY3) w/Boothy chicane
Round 2: 3 Hours of South City * - See below
Round 3: 6 Hours of Westhill International Reversed (WE1R)
Round 4: 3 Hours of Fern Bay Gold (FE3)
Round 5: 6 Hours of Aston Historic Reversed (AS4R)
Round 6: 3 Hours of Blackwood Grand Prix Reversed (BL1R)
Round 7: 12 Hours of Kyoto National (KY2)
The SO is not fully decided because we have a few combos in mind. SO4 is considered overused, and we won't use that. Jackson brought up SO6R as "being really great" that we basically canned that idea. So, the combos we've narrowed it down to are:
SO4R and SO5.
We are leaning at the moment towards SO4R, but want to hear what you all think.
Also, provisional restrictions are in the rules. FZR 21%, FXR 23% and XRR 24%.
Too bad event one is not KY3 Rev Personally I'll need a lot of training, though the tracks look nice. Looking forward to it!

Re: Grand Touring Amateur League
You´re used to the reversed way round, but if you started with the normal track and then got onto reverse, you´d see how much more difficult it is. Most difficult track on the calender is WE1R in my opinion. It´s very hard finding your braking points there. Otherway round it would be much easier.

The final season calender has been released: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1253435#post1253435
First race is on 14th November (!) BL GP rev, so there is plenty of time for our own little endurance race between now and that first race.
Here is the Official Schedule for 2010 season, pending any major arguments to forthcome:
Round 1 - 14th November: 3 Hours of Blackwood Grand Prix Reversed (BL1R)
Round 2 - 12th December: 3 Hours of Kyoto GP Long (KY3) w/Boothy chicane
Round 3 - 30 January: 3 Hours of South City Long Reversed (SO4R)
Round 4 - 27 February: 6 Hours of Westhill International Reversed (WE1R)
Round 5 - 27 March: 3 Hours of Fern Bay Gold (FE3)
Round 6 - 10 April: 6 Hours of Aston Historic Reversed (AS4R)
Round 7 - 1 May: 12 Hours of Kyoto National (KY2)
3 Hour Races will start from 17:00 UTC.
6 Hour Races will start from 14:00 UTC.
12 Hour Race will start from 11:00 UTC.
First race is on 14th November (!) BL GP rev, so there is plenty of time for our own little endurance race between now and that first race.

I think the only real problems will be T1 because you can´t actually see when you go uphill over the line and that curb in the chicane after the long straight. You can roll over there if you get it wrong.

My name is Dominik Engel (D.Engel). How many fake names are in it this time, GC? I guess you copied the list from our IGTC sign-up didn´t you?

I thought I had saved the IGTC list, but can't find it back.
So I named you D. Skinner
Ant ant (-> look a funny!) is named A. Watson ant Lake is named J. Lofontaine
I got my own name correct though, and Rookie's name also.

This is Fun.
Good practice for GTLA
Run with AI because restrict plate doesn't factor for them,
ReCap: single player mode, add a bunch of AI with your set ...and chase em.
Loads of fun.
AAnt...looks cool if you also chose all cars show same skin.

Re: Grand Touring Amateur League
Listening some important info here from rulebook.
Full rulebook can be found HERE.
All must read it entirely as it is important that you know what to do!!
1.SKIN NAME:
For organizational purposes, skin names must be named as followed (substitute
appropriate value for “X” and “Team”), per car:
XRR: XRR_GTALRX_Team.jpg
2. NAME:
All drivers shall format their names as stated in the NDR Sporting Code and
Charter. (don't forget to double check that when joining the server to do your stint!)
3. QUALIFY:
Each race weekend shall have two qualifying sessions. The fastest time of the
two sessions will be taken to set the grid.
a. Session One shall be held from 20:00 UTC on the Sunday Preceding the race.
and shall run for sixty (60) minutes.
b. Session Two shall be held from 20:00 UTC on the Friday preceding the race
and shall run for forty-five (45) minutes.
A maximum of two (2) drivers from a team may take part in the two sessions.
There shall be only one driver per team on course at any given time.
4. DRIVER SWAP:
No single driver on a team may drive more than 75% of the team’s race
distance. Driver swaps may be made at any time, without limit to number of swaps. An
entering driver may only join the server on the teams in-lap and the parting
driver must leave within one lap of the takeover. Failure to abide by this may
result in a kick for the offending driver.
5. PIT STOP + PIT LINE + PIT can CLOSE:
Pit Lane
1. During green flag conditions, the pit lane shall remain open and pits tops may be
made freely.
a. The entry lane as marked by the yellow or white line is a guideline to which no
penalty will be enforced for cutting. Exceptions may be listed on certain
courses in the Drivers’ Briefing thread prior to a round.
b. You may use any currently open pit stall for your pitstop. Travel to the
furthest stall down to reduce risk of collisions in pit lane.
c. Do not re-enter the track until the yellow or white line ends, or other further
markings by race administration. Crossing this line may result in a drivethrough
penalty.
You shall drive in the pit driving
lane (closest to the pit wall) until you reach your desired stall. You may be
issued with a Drive-Through Penalty for violation of this rule. (= do it realistic, don't move over the boxes)
6. POINTS:
There are bonus points available for qualifying on pole, and attending all races in
the season without getting a disqualification. All points are listed in the following
table.

information for each event shall be posted. There must be at minimum, one
active team representative in the designated IRC channel. Failure to have an
active representative when a team’s attention is needed will result in a lost of
the team’s fastest qualifying time from the next round’s qualifying as well as a 5-
point penalty.

Re: Grand Touring Amateur League
Wohoo! I just watched MoE qualifying @ KY3 (the round 2 track) and the XRR sucked hard! It was over a second slower than the fastest FZR in GT2. NDR will have test race this month, and if they change the balancing they give the teams the opportunity to change their car (not that we wanted to). If NDR don´t do anything about the balancing we´re not good shape.
