GTAL setups Empty GTAL setups

Post by Deutschland2007 Mon Sep 28, 2009 5:03 pm

I thought it might be useful to have a seperate thread for the setups and setup discussions. Smile

I find it very difficult to make XRR work properly on the BL1R track. I´ve got a new setup now but it still understeers like hell. Qual setup should last 2 or even 3 laps in a row. Can´t see that happening right now. The setup is pretty unbalanced. I got loads of understeer and lots of plow on oversteer. Plow on oversteer won´t be that difficult to fix, but the understeer curing the understeer might ruin the rest of the cars balance even more. I remember Gianni talking about that he had asked CoRe Racing if they could give us some XRR setups (as they are the best XRR team out there). I really hope they´ll be kind enough to do it, otherwise I´ll be sitting around until November just to do the qual setup, not even thinking about the raceset. silent

Thanks to some luck and to some help of Martin.S from the "Estonian Endurance Racers" we now have a qualifying setup for the BL1r track. Very Happy

Haven´t yet started working on the racesetup, but I will soon. Wink

Again some good news. Making the racesetup out of the qualsetup isn´t that difficult it seems. I even tried using a locked differential, but that didn´t work, so it´s back to the clutch pack. Unfortunately we´ll have to use R3s. R2s won´t even last for a hour. If we can get the R3s to last 90 minutes, and they can, we might only have to stop once, rather than twice. Fuelwise it´s no problem. As soon as the setups are ready, I´m gonna get them up here somehow, and then, practice, practice, practice. Smile

Yes. Smile To be honest, using 3 drivers wouldn´t even make sence if we have to make 2 stops. There is no rule that says you have to swap drivers at every pitstop. Wink

GTAL setups Empty GTAL R1 setups

The qualifying setup will last for maximum two laps in a row, and that only if you´re careful and really slow on your outlap

The racesetup, should (haven´t tried yet because of time reasons) last 1,5 hours that´s about 75 laps. I sounds like alot and because I don´t have time to test it, please help by doing so. All you need is about roughly 2 hours of sparetime, the raceset, and 85% of fuel. If it does last that long, we´ll only have to make 1 stop in the race. Smile

Do not give these setups away! It cost me some time to get them right.

This .rar file can be opened with 7zip. Downloadable at http://www.7-zip.org/

PS: If kingcars does not have access to this part of the forum, he´ll receive this as a PM.

So, I just tested the racesetup and was a little bit dissapointed. Not because it didn´t handle well, or the laptimes were slow, but because I think a 1 stop strategie is impossible. I did 50 laps with it which is roughly more than a hour, and the tyres were so worn already after that, that I think 2 stops are required (still only 2 drivers though). I need some more opinions on tyrewear, so please do what I said in the previous post. Maybe it´s just my problem.

target times:

qual: high 1:11s to low 1:12s
race: low 1:12s to high 1:13s

Core Racing XRR setups, might be GT1 sets or a bit outdated GT2 sets (from 1 year ago).
Nevertheless they stay great. Do NOT share outside SCCC or anyone else than Kingcars.

Great news! Smile

Uhm, Gianni, by this time a year ago the physics were exactly the same as they are now. Razz Even if they were from patch Y or even patch X they´ll still be better than what I could do. silent

So who's driving and can us back up drivers show up for the test race?

I can't open rar files either, bummer.

Have you downloaded 7zip? Just google for it and install it. It´s freeware so it won´t cost you anything. And it can open rar files. Smile
