XRG car...
Yesterday i decided to drive XRG car cos it was long time i didnt drove it.
I drove on LR servers and some BL servers.
I did a poor 1:34:68 on BL after 2 or 3 races.
I know that if i practice it i could be fast, but i think i wont waste my time on it.
I dont know why but i really dont like this car.
It looks heavy.
The car is sliding.
The feelings and handlings are not good to me.
I like cars where you have a real good feeling in, where u feel the grip.
And i still dont understand why on many servers they mix XRG and XFG cos if your a real good XRG driver, you will beat XFG cars on most of tracks (especially BL)
In fact, XRG has speed on straight line then loose a bit of time in turns.
For me its more important to be a fast driver in turns than in straight lines.
Whats your opinions?

Re: XRG car...
I like RWD cars, because they are more challencing to drive. I've the opposite, I can't feel grip level of FWD cars, RWD tells very clearly if you try to use more grip than you have available...
In my opinion XFG and XRG are balanced very well. Must be the most balanced class in LFS. On twisty tracks XFG has advantage where as XRG wins on more straight tracks.
If you drive against good XRG driver on blackwood, you need to take slipstream down the back straight and then use your shorter braking distance to pass.
I don't mind whether I drive RWD or FWD, but with RWD I really get enjoyment from purely driving.

Why the hell did you post what I was gonna post? Just kidding, and yes you´re right the FR class is the best balanced class in LFS. The worst is the LRF class, but we shall not discuss that story now. I did some FWD hotlapping yesterday at FE Gold. You can download the result of it at the LFSW hotlaplist for XFR @ FE Gold. To be honest I didn´t actually practice at all with it. I just jumped in the car and drove. I also uploaded FE Gold hotlaps for FBM and the FO8. The FO8 laptime was only 1,8 seconds slower than the WR.
I don´t like FWD that much to be honest. What I don´t like about them is that I actually get no feedback on what the back is doing. And as I´m a RWD´er I always try and correct it when the tail steps out (actually you just have floor it to get back in line). I will be a RWD fan forever, no matter what comes..

Re: XRG car...
XRG is not really fun to drive but the XRT is brilliant . For my personal taste i dont really care if it s fwd or rwd i just wnt to have some fun ( like Cindy Lauper said)
fwd is easier and you often have great close racing with these cars , rwd is harder to drive but once you understand how it works it s a great pleasure (maybe the new tyre physics will improve those cars in LFS , i find it too hard to catch back a slide at the moment).

Exactly. FWD is an unknown for me. If I want to drive fast I WILL cook my tyres. Those stupid setups with locked diffrentials are understeery like hell. In my opinion locked diffs should be remove as it isn´t exactly realistic to have them. It´s faster in some cars (like XRG, XRR or anything with FWD) but I can´t actually name a real car with a locked diff.
