Who knows, maybe a good surprise.

Looks a bit more simulation than other NFS :

I somehow have the feeling that Shift will be just another dissapointment for the people who buy it. I know it will surely be alot better, but I think if I hear anything about NFS I will still get that feeling. Won´t buy it anyway. I´ll save my money up for Forza Motorsport 3. Wink

I too wouldn't get hopes too high. NFS is targeted at mass markets and it just won't sell if it's too realistic. Kids need to drive 90 degrees turns at 300 km/h pale .
Horrible blur effects on the actual game footage Mad .
Might be a good arcade racer for late night hours when you're too drunk to play LFS anymore.

Nothing will ever be able to replace LFS, doesn´t matter what comes along. I can´t play anything else than LFS. Everything else feels somehow wrong, especially rFactor. LFS is TEH sim, it was and it will be. Everything else is just pointless (was also a slogan for the CTRA X-System Wink ). Smile I´m not sure if I´ll buy it. The only things that I´ll surely buy in the rest of this year is a headset, Forza Motorsport 3 and Windows 7 Ultimate. Wink

Haven't tried iRacing, but from what I've heard it's better than LFS with laser scanned tracks etc. I just don't want to pay monthly when there are months I don't get many hours to spend on gaming. Of course something will replace LFS sometime, it's just a game pirat Best racing simulator for pick up racing at the moment no doubt.

LFS is the middle of the road. Mostly very nice, somtimes a nightmare. But still the best online racegame. Good community, and school-is-out-wreckers sometimes. Has been there forever, nothing new. I think the somewhat younger drivers see more wreckers as the more elder drivers. Shocked

iRacing is very good, and making you pay and getting your licences while upgrading slowly after progression makes it perhaps to serious. Irregular racing and paying a vast amount and by that not much training and races and progression, is a waste of money. No wreckers but a lots of noobs around. Wink

iRacing is TEH rip-off. They´re trying so hard to make a simulation, they even simulate the loss of money you have while running cars! Razz

Released today, i wait for test.

For information, the game was developed by some old guys from Simbin (GTR2 and GT Legend).

Who knows....

They already failed in one point. Everyone I know who´s played it says their old sofa feels more like a simulation than Shift does. Very Happy Still, I won´t buy it. tongue

I ve red the test.

They gave 16/20 on this game but even it looks a bit more a sim, that still an arcade game.

Id like to play it just for fun, but i wont buy it.

Maybe on second hand later.

I tried the demo, but there was so bad steering lag that I couldn't even drive straight road. Seriously it took 1 second delay before anything happened in game Evil or Very Mad I've to hook up my wheel some day to see if it's any better.
As for the game: Didn't bother playing much because of the steering lag... At least it was possible to spun out and you really had to brake for the corners. It might be a decent arcade racer if you get away of the lag.

I tried to give it another go with wheel. I really tried. After fourth crash to desktop, I decided it's not worth waiting five minutes to get back to desktop just when the race was about to start Evil or Very Mad . I got frustrated on so many levels after going through settings in shitty UI that I may need a beer or two to survive...
There seems to be an extra f in the game title. It's a piece of shit! Evil or Very Mad
Maybe EA will pay the beer for me tonight as compensation Evil or Very Mad

I tried the full version today ... my wife's son is in LOVE with this game.

I had to try it myself.

Installed the game, connected my wheel, after some messing around with the settings i got it work ok with my MoMo.

Impression of the game:
- sound is just FFING awesome compared to LFS.
- GFX are INSANELY AWESOMELY good, LFS can't get anywhere near that
- Realism, well i guess that LFS is still a better SIM than NFS-Shift. NFSS has still a bit of steering lag and its just a lot harder to drive cars in a clean way.
Compared to previous Need For Speeds this one is the closest to real driving they have ever had. None of this Arcade 200+ km/h 90 degree corner crap. You will miss the corner and smash into the barriers, HARD.

I have been playing it for a few hours today, the tracks and cars and everything have kept me busy most of the day.

LFS is still the better sim, but if you like eye and ear candy .. or want to drive the 20+ KM Nordschleife .. give NFS-Shift a go.

No, if you want an ear and eye candy with great sounds and amazing graphicz that even has something to do with realism, play GTR Evolution, if you don´t have a PC and just a console, play Forza Motorsports and if you´ve lost any will to continue your life than play rFactor - the future of simracer´s suicides.

I stick with LFS and walk right passed everything that has "Need for Speed" written on it. Neutral
